POIESIS was present at the 10th Congress on the Social Communication of Science (CCSC2025), which took place in Palma de Mallorca from October 28 to 30, 2025, at the Auditorium Palma de Mallorca.
Marta Entradas, leader of POIESIS WP2, participated along with POIESIS Advisory Board member Mike S. Schäfer, Celia Diaz Catalan, and Pampa Garcia Molina in a roundtable about trust in science, sharing precious insights from the POIESIS key findings and results, which derived from large scale research actions throughout Europe.
Held under the theme “Creative Communication of Science”, the Congress brought together professionals in communication, outreach, journalism, and science from Spain, Portugal, and Latin America.
Its main goal was to foster debate on issues related to scientific culture and to encourage collective reflection among participants, aiming to strengthen and update strategies, directions, actors, and objectives in the social communication of science.
The thematic lines for the 2025 edition included trust in science, risk communication, advertising with a critical perspective, technology, fiction, entertainment, and art.
The focus on creativity, as highlighted in the Congress theme, sought to enhance the quality of scientific communication, outreach, and journalism, as well as to promote learning and inspire scientific vocations. Creativity was not regarded merely as an added value, but as a key element contributing to a closer relationship between science and society, in a world that continues to be shaped by scientific and technological progress.
